Social Ad Summit 2008: Full Event in Video
Friday, October 17th, 2008I’ve been posting the videos individually from Social Ad Summit and after uploading all of them, I’ve decided just to included the entire conference in one player. If you weren’t able to make it, check out all of the presentations below. I’ve gone ahead and placed the videos in the order of the entire event agenda. Enjoy!
Social Ad Summit: Social Advertising Metrics
Wednesday, October 15th, 2008Next from the Social Ad Summit video archives is the Social Advertising Metrics panel with Sean Ammirati (mSpoke/RWW), Albert Lai (kontagent), Ian Swanson (Sometrics), Cam Balzer (DoubleClick Performics), and Jodi McDermott (Clearpsring). Check it out!
Social Ad Summit: Widget Monetization
Monday, October 13th, 2008While widgets are not all social, social applications are frequently associated with widgets. I tend to differentiate between the two in that widgets are simply compartmentalized content which can be distributed anywhere on the web. They also don’t necessarily have social features. Monetizing widgets is just as challenging as monetizing social applications though, and based on their close association with applications I decided to have a panel at Social Ad Summit discussing the topic.
The panel includes Kevin Barenblat of ContextOptional, Hooman Radfar of Clearspring, Sam Wick of Userplane, Ben Pashman of Gigya, and Heidi Henson of RockYou. Check out the video below to see the full panel.
Social Ad Summit: Michael Lazerow
Friday, October 10th, 2008I finally have the rest of the videos from Social Ad Summit and will be posting them over the coming days. This video is a plenary keynote by Mike Lazerow, CEO of Buddy Media, talking about the challenges facing the industry as a whole and describing where it’s going. It’s a great overview and I highly recommend watching the entire video as Mike makes a lot of great points.

Social Ad Summit: Social Ad Network Solutions
Thursday, September 25th, 2008One of the most interesting panels during the day at Social Ad Summit was the Social Ad Networks Solutions panel. The best part was the disagreement among some of the panelists. It was a panel of multiple ad networks (SocialMedia, Lookery, Social Cash, appssavvy, and Offerpal Media) and moderated by Allen Stern of Centernetworks. This made for a pretty insightful panel. Check it out below!

Social Ad Summit: Social Network Advertising
Monday, September 22nd, 2008Last week we hosted the inaugural Social Ad Summit in New York City. Over the past week the video team has been compiling the videos and this week we will be posting them on the site. The first video which I’ve embedded below is the Social Network Advertising panel. The speakers on the panel are Spencer Ante, Computers Editor at BusinessWeek and author of “Creative Capital”, David Borstein of MySpace, Bill Alena of MyYearbook.com, Mike Trigg of hi5 and Martin Green of Meebo.
I will be posting transcripts of the various panels in the coming weeks as they get posted. Enjoy!
Social Ad Summit in Photos, Part 1
Thursday, September 18th, 2008This Monday marked the inaugural Social Ad Summit. Initial feedback has been pretty positive and I was honestly surprise with how well it went. We worked night and day to pull this off and also got the support of JESS3 and my event director Reggie Kouba to help put the finishing touches on everything. We have thousands of photos from the event but I’ve gone ahead and embedded the first set.
We will be posting more over the coming days on here and on the Social Times Facebook fan page. If you see yourself in photos but aren’t tagged, go ahead and add me as a friend and we’ll add you to the albums. Thanks a million to all of our sponsors, speakers, and all the attendees that showed up to make this an amazing event. We are looking forward to hosting the second one next year! Stay tuned for more updates on new events in the coming weeks.
