If you’ve been banging your head against the wall, trying to figure out what to do in the precious time you have been waiting for your YouTube videos to load, your worries are over. Over the weekend, a YouTube “Easter Egg” was discovered that lets users play the classic arcade game Snake from within the YouTube video player!
A video uploaded to YouTube last Friday by user iTyGuy32 has been spreading around the web for the last few days, showing YouTubers how to unlock the game of Snake on the video site. As iTyGuy32 explains, the Snake Easter Egg works only in the new YouTube players. To get the game going, simply hold down the “Left” arrow key on your keyboard while you are on the video page. After holding down for a few seconds, the snake game will appear.
You can play the game while the video is paused, as well as while the video is playing if you like to multi-task. I have to admit that I thought I was pretty good at Snake but this YouTube version moves fast! Give it a try and see if you can manage to get through the entire video without losing the game. I couldn’t do it, but I’m not giving up yet. Looks like I just found the new bane of my procrastination-prone existence!
