About a month ago we announced a new project here at Social Times called ‘Will It Stick?’ Our mission with this project is to find out what makes a video go viral and we’re creating videos, putting them out there and seeing if they stick. For our second video we’ve put together a medley of Justin Bieber hits and cut it together with footage of some of the cutest dancing dogs on YouTube. These dogs have Bieber Fever and they’ve got it bad.
Justin Bieber is consistently among the most popular videos on YouTube. Millions of pre-teen girls all over the world flock to see the newest Bieber clips as soon as they come out. Bieber has also been the butt of a number of YouTube parodies with millions of views and even a clip of him hitting his head on a revolving door shot to the top of YouTube’s charts.
Cute pet clips have also been among the most popular YouTube videos for as long as anyone can remember. People love seeing animals being cute. Our video is chock full of dogs being adorable as well as Justin Bieber, so we just may have hit the nail on the head!
One issue that we have discovered is that if you are not a YouTube partner you cannot upload your own thumbnail that viewers will see on the player before the video begins playing. Unfortunately, none of the three images that we were provided with as thumbnail options were great, which may effect our views. If anyone knows a work around for this issue, please let us know!
So what do you think? Will it stick?
