Facebook Improves Public Profile Pages, To Launch a New Home Page Soon

Facebook has announced two new drastic improvements – one has something to do with Public Profile pages and the other a fully revamped Facebook homepage. Let’s take a look at this two improvements separately.First is the new profile pages for public figures and organizations. These profile pages will now start to look a lot like your usual Facebook members’ profile pages, and function the same way as well. This simply means that you can practically connect with this profile pages the same way that you connect with other Facebook members. Likewise, owners of these profile pages can now share status updates, videos, photos or any other things that Facebook members usually share with each other. You can also receive updates from these profile pages on your News Feeds.

Next and perhaps the more exciting of the announcements is the new Facebook home page. Amon the new features of the Facebook home page that I personally like is the ability to select the friends you want to receive updates from as well as select only specific updates that you want to receive from them. Finally! You can simply ignore to receive updates from friends who are fond of updating their status with every steps they make with their daily routines. Common Facebook users, that’s what Twitter is for. Another cool feature of the new Facebook home page is the integration of your Facebook friends updates and updates coming from the profile pages of famous people and organizations all on the home page.

Aside from these features, the new Facebook home page looks cleaner and sleeker than the current home page. It will be rolled out by next week but in the meantime you can check out the screenshot of the new home page below. Or check out the new home page tour here.
