ScreenToaster 2.0 Offers Screencasting in the Clouds

screentoaster_logoThe first time I came across new screencasting service, ScreenToaster 2.0 a couple of weeks ago it was still in private, by-invitation-only beta mode. Although I was able to get an invite, unfortunately I wasn’t able to test it out during the lack of time. Anyway, ScreenToaster 2.0 has just announced that it is now out in public beta mode, meaning you can try it out without needing an invite code.ScreenToaster 2.0  is a free browser-based screen recorder that you can use to capture your PC’s screen activities. It’s a great tool to use if you’re in need of a quick way to demonstrate something, either online or from your desktop. It runs on desktop platforms such as Windows Vista, Mac and Linux and runs smoothly on Firefox, IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari browsers.

And since it is browser-based, you don’t need to download anything to use the software. It sits right into your browser’s applications/add-ins facility. All you need to do is to register at ScreenToaster 2.0, and you can start recording you screen right away.

ScreenCaster 2.0 offers the following features:

  • Live audio capture – to spruce up your captured screen presentation
  • Embed webcam in screen capture
  • Accelerated or slow-motion playback
  • Pauses during recording
  • Redesign and improved content organization
  • Personal profiles

A good feature of ScreenToaster 2.0 is the fact that it allows you to quickly and easily share your screencast to your friends via email or by embeding it to your blog or websites. The ScreenToaster sites also allows you to feature your screencast at its website.

With the growing popularity of online tutorials, ScreenToaster 2.0 offers a good alternative to the paid screen recorder available in the market today. And the addition of simultaneous video and audio recording makes the software even more useful. Hopefully, more features will be introduced later on, as everyone could definitely makes good use of ScreenToaster 2.0.
