Watch Full Season of The Office on Splashcast

-Splashcast/Hulu Logos-Media aggregator and distributor Splashcast has teamed up with Hulu for a distribution deal that automatically updates Splashcast players with available Hulu content. This includes popular shows such as “The Office” and “The Simpsons.” With distribution options on social networks like MySpace and Facebook as well as embeddable players, Splashcast’s new partnership with Hulu will lead to entire seasons being made more available to end users and viewers from joint broadcasters NBC and FOX.

Splashcast is one of those media services that has had an interesting time integrating into the grand scheme of things when it comes to online social media, given its feature set at the time of Splashcast’s launch and ability to do everything it wanted to do without cooperation from various other media outlets.

But that has slowly changed over the past two years, with a distinctive business model having emerged with clarity right around the time the Facebook Open Platform launched, providing a distribution channel for Splashcast and additional incentive for potential clients to sign Splashcast as a partner. This trend has since continued, as more and more content owners and producers look to Splashcast’s aggregation and distribution methods for branded and embeddable “media outlets” among other things.

Even though there is Hulu content available for viewing and profile-posting on MySpace already, the Splashcast player’s aggregation capabilities make for a compact way in which Hulu’s content can be shared across the web and directly to friends. With other features we’ve seen evolve into the Splashcast player, such as live chat, Splashcast also stands to become a competitor of Meebo from a content promotion and branding tool, as Meebo rooms along with Meebo’s direct advertising methods have been designed for this purpose.
