Interesting concept. But what's the point of another social networking website? The space needs more convergence and less diversification. Managing my web presence across multiple networks is annoying and time-consuming.

Hey Liz, I won a couple invites in the latest scavenger hunt. (It was pretty cool, it's a cross-promotion with the TED Conference.) They don't activate for another few days, but when they do, would you like an invitation?

Sounds interesting.

It's horrible how all of this secrecy really makes me want in to the darned thing. I need to stop being such a sucker for social networking.

Yeah, right. Hope this "strategy" works out for them. It might be so exclusive that it's just a small bunch of people talking to themselves. The great thing about social networking is discovering people you do not know who do interesting things with their lives or jobs.

But I'm just a populist at heart any way. Viva la classless society!
