Track your reading and bookmark using Twitter app Bkkeepr

bkkeepr.jpgHere’s another cool app for all your Twitter fans out there. Bkkeepr lets you track what you’re reading and bookmark on the go online or through SMS by using your Tweeter account. Like all other Twitter apps, Bkkeepr is also simple to use and simple to set up.

Again, all you need is a Twitter account. If you don’t have one yet, I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t want to create one. And I don’t have to tell you again that Twitter is the new wave of web 2.0 and social networking. Alright, with your Twitter account all you have to do is follow bkkeepr. Then to update bkkeepr with the latest you’ve read or currently reading, send either a public @reply message (using Twitter again), or a private direct message.

Now that we got that part settled, here’s an important and perhaps what sets bkkeepr apart from other Twitter apps. In order to track the books that you are reading, you have to know its ISBN. ISBN’s are the 13-digit numbers that are imprinted on the books cover. If you can’t find this on the book that you are reading, check Amazon. You will need this ISBN to get the apps work properly.

Now, you can send several kind of messages to Twitter when tracking the books that you are reading.

  • Send ISBN [star or ISBN begin] – to start tracking a book
  • Send ISBN [finish or ISBN end] – when you finish reading a book
  • Send ISBN [page number] – to mark a page as read
  • Send ISBN [page number] [note] – to bookmark a page

There, to know where you’ve stopped while reading a book, you can always check for you bkkeepr updates. To know which book you have finished reading, you can always check bkkeepr account.

Cool? Actually, I kind of got lost with the explanation. If you’re trying bkkeepr out with your Twitter account, we would love to hear about your experience. As always the comment box is open for your, well, comments.
